Accessibility statement · prepared 27 October 2026

A site everyone can use.

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the standard referenced by the European Accessibility Act and EN 301 549.

Status

theunione.org is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 AA: most content meets the standard, and the items below do not yet.

What we have done

  • Text contrast raised to at least 4.5:1 on light backgrounds.
  • A "Skip to content" link on every page, and a visible focus outline.
  • The menu and the Ask UNIONE™ panel are removed from the keyboard order while closed.
  • Every icon button and link has a text name; touch targets are at least 24 × 24 pixels.
  • Forms label every field, explain errors in words and keep your answers when something goes wrong.
  • Page text is in the HTML for screen readers and search engines, not only built by JavaScript.

Known limitations

  • Generated PDFs (certificates, notices, invoices) are not yet tagged. Every PDF has the same information as text under My applications or My services; ask and we send an accessible version within two working days.
  • Some recorded conversations from partner events have no captions. We add captions on request within ten working days.
  • Maps and some charts on country pages repeat their data in tables, but not every chart has a long description yet.

Report a barrier

Write to contact@theunione.org with "Accessibility" in the subject, the page address and what happened. We reply within five working days and, where we cannot fix the page at once, give you the information or service another way.

Enforcement

If you are not satisfied with our answer, use the complaints procedure. You can also contact the authority responsible for accessibility in your country.
