UNIONE™ Online · Fellow-delivered

The entry tier of Independent Assessment: a neutral view of whether a claim is worth pursuing (merits, evidence, cost, time and realistic recovery) before you spend on proceedings. The fee counts towards a full assessment ordered within 60 days.

Enter the matter, see the live analysis and the delivery plan, then pay at the end. Every step after that is tracked on your page.

What you receive

  • Merits and evidence assessment
  • Cost, time and recovery outlook
  • Settle-or-proceed recommendation
  • Conflict check before any review

Why people use it

Before you spend on proceedings: a neutral Fellow's view of whether the claim is worth pursuing, on the merits, the evidence, the cost, the time and the money you can realistically recover. The entry tier of Independent Assessment.

  • Counsel are confident; the board wants a view from someone with no stake in the fight.
  • You want to know the realistic recovery, not only the chance of winning.
  • You need a basis to settle, fund or proceed.

Who it is for

  • Claimants and prospective claimants
  • Boards and CFOs approving litigation budgets
  • Funders screening a claim

When to order it

  • Before the first letter goes to the other side.
  • Before a litigation budget is approved or a funder is approached.
  • When a settlement offer is on the table and the deadline is close.
  • When limitation is approaching and the decision to file cannot wait for a full assessment.

What it is not

It is a snapshot from your documents and answers, not a full merits assessment or an opinion on the applicable law. It tells you whether and how to go further; the Independent Assessment goes further.

How it works

1. Your matter

You. You enter the matter online and upload the documents; your browser extracts the text and UNIONE™'s own servers run the analysis. Nothing is kept until you submit.

2. Viability model

UNIONE™ software. Merits, evidence, recovery and cost scores from your answers, the likely track and the published fee.

3. Confirm and pay

You. You check the plan and pay by card on Stripe's secure page, at the end of the application.

4. Conflict and independence check

Secretariat · 2 working days. The Secretariat checks every party against UNIONE™, its Fellows and the Federation. Nobody reads the merits until it is clear.

5. Fellow appointed

Named Fellow. The Secretariat appoints a Fellow with the right jurisdictions; the Fellow declares independence online before opening the file.

6. Fellow's review

Named Fellow · 5 working days. The Fellow tests your answers against the documents and writes the assessment and the recommendation.

7. Second-Fellow check

Second Fellow · 1 working day. A second Fellow reviews the work in the Fellow Desk and approves it or returns it with comments.

8. Released to you

UNIONE™ software · 1 working day. The software produces the signed PDF, puts it on your page and e-mails you.

How we deliver

  • Seven working days after the conflict check, which usually takes two working days.
  • Written snapshot (PDF) by a named Fellow.
  • Fee credited in full if you commission an Independent Assessment within 60 days.

Pricing and what it buys

  • Fixed price for one claim; credited towards a full Independent Assessment within 60 days.

The software and AI in this service

Before you pay: Viability model. Merits, evidence, recovery and cost scores from your answers, the likely track and the published fee. It runs on UNIONE™'s own servers and sends nothing to an AI provider.

The AI first read builds a chronology and an evidence list from your documents and marks the gaps, so the Fellow starts from the facts.

  • AI provider: OpenAI, under business API terms that do not allow training on your data.

Frequently asked questions

Will the Fellow act for me later?

No. Independence requires that the assessor takes no later role in the same dispute without every party's written consent.

Does it give a percentage chance of winning?

No. It uses clear categories and reasons, which tribunals and boards trust more than invented percentages.

How can a Fellow assess a claim in seven working days?

By answering five defined questions (merits, evidence, cost, time, recovery) from the contract, the key documents and your answers, with the software's chronology and evidence map already prepared. It is a snapshot by design, and it says what it could not see.

Is the fee really credited against a full assessment?

Yes, in full, if you commission the Independent Assessment within 60 days of the snapshot.

Will the other side learn about it?

No. The snapshot is confidential, conflict-checked and seen only by the Secretariat and the assigned Fellows.

Can a funder order it on my claim?

A funder can order it with your consent and documents; the conflict check covers the funder as well.

Do I need an account first?

No. Run the application: enter the matter, see the live analysis and the plan, then pay at the end (or request the quote). We create your private account from your email so you can follow every step. Already have one? It is linked automatically, and you open it with a one-time code.

How do I pay?

By card on Stripe's secure page, in USD, EUR or GBP. UNIONE™ never sees your card details. An invoice is issued automatically.

Is my information confidential?

Yes. Orders and applications are confidential, handled by named people after a conflict check, and never shared without your consent except as the law requires.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, depending on the stage the work has reached. The Refund policy sets it out service by service.

Is AI used on my documents?

Only to prepare: the live analysis before payment runs on UNIONE™'s own rules on our servers, and after the Secretariat clears the conflict check an AI first read gives the Fellow a map of the file. Nothing reaches an AI provider before then. A named Fellow makes every finding. Tick "No AI on my documents" on the form and the AI first read is skipped; the Fellow works from the documents alone.
